How to vet a Utah waterproofing contractor (a 12-question checklist)

Pick the wrong contractor and you'll be paying twice. Use this short list before signing.

1. Are you licensed by the Utah DOPL?
2. What is your general liability coverage? Ask for a current COI emailed directly from the carrier.
3. Will the same crew start and finish my job?
4. What manufacturer products will you install — by exact name?
5. Are you a certified applicator for those products?
6. What is the workmanship warranty? Is it transferable?
7. Can I see three projects within five miles of my home?
8. What is your written change-order process?
9. Will you protect my landscaping and floors during work?
10. What is your daily start and stop time?
11. Who do I call if something is wrong six months from now?
12. What does the final walkthrough include?

If a bidder hesitates on more than two of these, pass.
